Nunes Quoted in Commercial Integrator

PepperDash President/CEO, Howard Nunes, was quoted in the December 2011 issue of Commercial Integrator. In an article titled “Integrators Leverage Automation Consistency” explores the need for uniformity in control automation throughout an organization, despite project requirements that may not account for global standardization. Entrenched project specification and pricing processes often fail to account for enterprise-wide standards, equipment monitoring, and uniformity of user experience. PepperDash advocates close, long-term relationships between corporate technology consumers or designers and their control automation programming partners, to ensure consistent, outstanding deployment and utilization of automation technology.

PepperDash Concludes Sentegy Study at Tufts U

PepperDash this week concluded a two-semester study of its Sentegy energy efficiency software in cooperation with the Tufts University School of Engineering. PepperDash worked with several engineering and human factors professors and students to study the role that occupant behavior and feedback play in managing various indoor environmental factors. Sentegy is designed to account for these in the predictive algorithms that it uses to determine the optimal balance between energy efficiency and occupant comfort/productivity. The results were very instructive and the students were able to include their work as part of their senior capstone projects. PepperDash will be incorporating into Sentegy many of the user experience features developed during the study.

March 2011

PepperDash Concludes Sentegy Study at Wharton

PepperDash concluded a four-month study at the Wharton School March 31, 2011, demonstrating huge potential energy savings on our Sentegy® platform.  Launched in November 2011, and conducted in cooperation with the Computing department at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business, the Intelligent Energy Management Software Study analyzed occupancy patterns and a variety of environmental factors over several months, using a prototype of our Sentegy® Intelligent Energy Management system.  The study concluded that during the analysis period, an amazing 26% savings in heating costs could be achieved by actively managing HVAC setpoints using predictive occupancy patterns and acquired thermodynamic spatial characteristics. Using the Sentegy platform and algorithms, the study also determined that as much as 50% of lighting costs could be saved using predictive occupancy patterns and acquired illumination characteristics to drive daylight harvesting techniques. Look for a detailed white paper soon.
