PepperDash Courts Federal Judiciary
When members of the United States Judiciary gathered in Denver this September 21 to discuss the future of technology in the Federal Trial Courts, PepperDash was among the vendors invited to attend. With our experience delivering court room control automation, we jumped at the chance to pick up some detailed insights. The Courtroom Technology Roundtable Discussion gathered judges, IT managers, clerks, stenographers, and other court personnel to compare the ways technology is being used in the 94 federal courts around the country, and to define a consensus for the future. After a judicial demonstration of state-of-the-art technology at the Denver District Court, vendors were invited to sit in on focus group reports and engage in an open Q&A session with the focus groups. It was a rare and enlightening look into the needs of the judiciary, and a unique opportunity for PepperDash to help define the next generation of automation interfaces, control navigation and usability features for the courts of the future. PepperDash President/CEO, Howard Nunes, was quoted on energy savings and control systems in a Church Production Magazine article, "Green Audio/Visual." The article details various issues that churches encounter when trying to be environmentally friendly. In addition to power consumption and energy efficiency issues, for example, attitude and “commitment to the cause” play a big part in going green. Nunes advises that while it may take a while for churches to realize a full financial return on their investment, there is excellent potential for energy savings using AV control systems, particularly as a “value add” for existing systems. AV control systems can significantly improve energy management with a relatively modest investment in additional hardware and programming. January 2009
